Emily + Jono

Emily and Jono brought their family and friends together for a magical evening celebrating their love.

Our two babes matched on Tinder as a couple of 18 year olds swiping left and right at everyone within their reach, but it wasn’t until a year later that their sparks took to flame. A Prom themed night at their local MYNT club saw them both turn up dressed in their best.

That night Jono spotted Emily from across the beer garden and proceeded to message her to check and to see whether it was ok for him to come over and say ‘hi’. Emily gave the green light and then immediately spotted Jono’s head bobbing over the crowd, she was greeted by his signature goofy grin and was pleasantly surprised at how handsoe and tall he was in person.

Jono then asked if Emily wanted to meet his date, at which point he pulled out his Platinum Angel, Magic the Gathering card. Luckily Emily got the reference and is also a MTG player, they arranged a meet up so they could play against each other and the rest is history. That Platinum Angel card has proven itself to be Jono’s good luck charm, he of course had it with him on his wedding day!

Our lovers have since matured and made a beautiful life together, shared along with their extended friendship group. For their wedding day they were each 7 wedding squad memebers deep. These are the wonderful people supporting them on their wedding day and beyond, so it was a beautiful touch to do a mini intro for each of their VIP buddies standing up there with them during the ceremony.

Emily and Jono’s autumn ceremony held within the picturesque grounds of Daylesford Convent was perfectly paired with the wedding squad’s burgandy colour palette. The majestic light coming through the chapel’s stainglass windows gave off a regal sense of romanticism, making everyone look like they’re a cast member in Baz Luhrmann’s production of Romeo + Juliet, except nobody dies in this fairytale. Kara from ‘The Runaway Hearts’ then expertly captured our newlyweds basking in those magical autumn golden hues.

I had the pleasure to stay on to MC the wedding reception party and it was a good time for all. Loved hearing the heartwarming speeches and getting to know the wonderful guests in between the yummy dinner that was served. Once the cake was cut, then the D-floor was opened for Luke our DJ to get everyone to dance the night away.

So much love and magic came together for our newlyweds.
