Kaitlin + Justin

“We adored working with Jam and feel really lucky to have had her both as our celebrant and MC for our wedding! Jam has a beautiful energy and is an amazing storyteller, incredibly stylish and brings so much heart to what she does.
She told our story in the most meaningful way. Some of our guests even thought she must have been a close friend that had known us for years! As our MC, she kept the night running smoothly, engaging everyone and creating such a fun, relaxed atmosphere.
We couldn’t recommend her more highly to any couple looking for a fun, passionate and down-to-earth celebrant and MC.”

Justin and Kaitlin’s story dates all the way back to the 1st day of high school.

As two newbie year 7 babes starting out at a brand new school, they were put in different classrooms, but paired up as ‘buddies’ so they’d know another familiar face around the place. Even though everyone thought the exercise was ‘soooo lame’, Kaitlin appreciated seeing Justin’s friendly face and would often give him a little wave.

Fast-forward to 6 years later, our two 18 year olds are just about to finish high school and enter into the big wide world. Even though they’ve gotten to know each other through their time at school, hanging out in adjacent friendship groups, with mutual friends dating one another, Justin and Kaitlin never got to hang out one on one. That is until one fateful night down at their local Circus nightclub.

That night there wasn’t the usual crew out, so the vibe was a little different, it meant that Justin and Kaitlin finally got some time to really get to know each other. Something then drastically shifted within Justin’s psyche, it was like he finally saw his dream girl that was under his nose the whole time!

Our lovers have since tackled the world together hand in hand and seen some great sights. It was on their last overseas trip to Vietnam where Justin proposed to Kaitlin. Whilst taking a cruise around scenic Ha Long Bay, Justin persuaded Kaitlin to take a ‘Titanic’ photo with him at the front of the ship. Kaitlin extended her arms out like Rose did on the Titanic and when she turned around, she was greeted with her beautiful man Justin down on one knee with a custom Corky St Clair engagement ring in hand.

For their wedding day our sweethearts shared an intimate ‘1st-look’ moment at their Collingwood wedding venue Rupert on Rupert. They read out some personal vows between themselves with a giant cardboard cutout of their beloved kitty Ziggy watching over them. They then took to the streets of Collingwood along with their wedding love squad to capture some shots together before the ceremony.

Kaitlin and Justin’s ceremony started just as the unpredictable Melbourne weather decided to deliver a sprinkle of showers. Luckily ceremonies at Rupert are 100% wet weather proof, Mali and her team however did make a run out with umbrellas to help Kaitlin and her love party shelter out of the elements before her big entrance.

We then kicked off the ceremony with the lovely Drea serenading us with a live performance of Latch by Sam Smith. The ceremony itself was was full of heart, I was able to tell Justin and Kaitlin’s story over the more than half a lifetime they’ve already known each other. Everyone was overjoyed in seeing them become ‘buddies’ for life! I stayed on to help with MC-ing their reception celebrations and had a great time getting to know their guests and my fellow wedding vendors. Guests were treated to Rupert’s infamous hospitality with mouth watering dishes, whilst listening to speeches delivered by our newlywed’s loved ones.

At the end of the dinner our couple of the hour took to the mic to delivery their speech and then they got to cut their yummy Mali bakes wedding cake. They then took to the dance floor, to first dance with their mother and father respectively and then taking to the dance floor for the first time as husband and wife. We then all joined in for a roaring time on the d-floor. I especially loved seeing their Ziggy kitty cutout used as their wedding doof stick.
